A Laugh, A Tear, A Smile

Beauty, Love, and Memories
Nice, France has a very special place in my heart. It is after all, the place me and my boyfriend, Mark, whom I just celebrated our one year anniversary with, had our first everything.
After eight months of waiting, waiting to see each other, waiting to have our first kiss, waiting to hang out and actually know that we both liked each other, we met up in France on our Spring Breaks.  Here, on Chateau Hill, in Nice, France, is where we had our first kiss on April 6, 2010.  He had just landed at the airport, in which me and my family went to go pick him up.  It was quite funny having my family there because he was afraid to hold my hand and do anything in front of my parents.  But thankfully that didn’t stop him later that night when we were back at the house we were staying at.
We enjoyed a week together, traveling to various little towns around Nice.  We visited Monaco the day after my birthday in which I got to gamble in a casino for the first time. My parents and cousin loved him. We attempted to teach Mark how to play Rummy, but it didn’t work out so well.
This week, our first week together, set up the tone for the past year.  This year with him has been absolutely amazing.  No relationship if without flaws.  But it’s not about how little fights you have with your partner but how you grow together.  Mark always balances me out.  When I am stressed he is calm and when he is stressed I am calm.  It really brings the saying “opposites attract” true.  Nancy Kantra explained that we are attracted to our opposite because we need something from them.  A person who is nice all the time, needs to learn to put there foot down, and the person who is “mean” all the time needs to learn a little compassion.  When we are finished with what we need from the person and balance out ourselves, that relationship might fall apart.  Not that you may not love the person still, but the relationship may clash too much.  Also though, you may always need someone there. You may be balanced enough when you are apart, but you are together with a person, a certain balance is maintained between you both that you each contribute to each other. For the past year Mark and I have been great in this way.  Happy one year babe!
France is a beautiful country; quite romantic as well.  Besides it being a romantic trip for me the country is absolutely gorgeous. And if anyone would like to bring me back there I welcome it!  I could go on forever about all the wonderful food I had.  The croissants were perfect. And believe it or not the ham, or jambon, in French, was spectacular.  I cannot count how many ham and cheese sandwiches I had there. I would go back to France just for a day to eat!
